About me
Hi,
My name is William Bao. I graduated as Computer Science master from one of the most famous university in China at the end of last century. I have worked at one of the biggest IT companies worldwide for over 15 years.
I remembered the first router I bought was buffalo WHR-HP-G54, then Linksys WRT54GSv1. There were 8 WRT54GSv1 running at same time. Was it crazy ? When I tried to improve their stabilization, I found Tomato firmware from PolarClound website. I downloaded it and transfered all of English string to Chinese and re-compiled into Chinese firmwares. It is really surprising to me that Tomato can keep running over 163 days until a power event occurred.
Tomato is only personal interest due to nostalgia that I was a software engineer about 15 years ago. Using this small tomato software to make profit is not my purpose and aspiration. I like that feeling to share my contribution to others, especially for Chinese who have no free and stable firmwares for many low-end routers.
I’d like to appreciate all users of my mod Tomato version. The facts you use and appreciate my work motivates me to continue and release newer and better versions.
